How to get to Mindo from Quito:

• By road: Mindo is located approximately 80 km northwest of Quito and can be reached by car or public transportation. The main road to Mindo is the Esmeraldas Route, which starts from the north of Quito and heads west (via Los Bancos). From the center of Quito, you can take a taxi or a bus from the Carcelén Bus Terminal. Buses depart frequently from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a travel time of approximately 2 hours.


• By public transportation: You can also take a bus directly from the Flor del Valle Cooperative bus station located at the Metrobus station north of Quito in Ponceano, in front of the Liga de Quito stadium. The buses cost around 3 dollars. The buses will take you to the entrance of the town of Mindo, where you can walk or take a taxi to reach Mindo Coffee Lodge.


• By taxi: The cost of a taxi from Quito to Mindo is around 60 dollars, and the journey takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.


• By car: If you prefer to drive, you can take the Los Lagos road from Quito, which connects with the Esmeraldas Route. The car journey from Quito to Mindo usually takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic.
